Node.Js Developer - Brighton

A leading UK Data Analytics company who provide a Big Data platform that improves the buying decisions of millions of internet users everyday are looking to recruit a Developer to work on the Back-End of their applications currently being rewritten onto Node.js and JavaScript. You will be based in their lovely offices in the heart of Brighton and this role will be working alongside a number of highly talented Developers on their core platform team.

This company are now looking for a Developer with a strong passion for coding performant back end applications to help us grow and maintain the product API’s and internal back office systems that drive their Data Analytics platform. This platform is core to the internet services of many of  the largest companies across the globe. 

As a Back-End Developer, you will be part of the core experienced back-end engineering team, working on a large scale re-development project, so this is an opportunity to influence the platform and the business in a highly visible role. They are in the process of rewriting their back office from Perl to JavaScript so any experience with NodeJs would be advantageous.

It would be useful to have some of the following skills:

  • Proven experience with a scripting language (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Go and Perl).
  • Understanding of Node.js.
  • Database experience preferably mySQL.
  • Experience building scalable web services and applications.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages, tools and libraries.
  • Experience with Ubuntu, Vagrant and AWS would be a plus.
  • Up to date with the latest software development technologies and methodologies..
