Junior or Mid-Level PHP Developer


A global software business with an award reputation within the e-Learning software space are looking to recruit a Junior or Mid-Level PHP Developer to work on their core product development team based in beautiful offices in the heart of Brighton.


You will be based in the centre of Brighton, close to the sea, shops and a multitude of cafes and restaurants in the heart of Brighton’s busy cultural centre and this will be a great opportunity to work with a highly collaborative Web Development team building hugely interesting web and mobile applications and training onto cutting edge web technologies and development frameworks.


You should therefore have some commercial Web development experience ideally with PHP and an interest to move into the e learning space. This role will best suit a Web Developer who is interested in developing scalable, flexible, high performance state of the art eLearning systems and web applications which are used by customers across the globe.


The development team at this company are a social bunch enjoying regular team events. Career development, as well as further training onto new technologies, is actively encouraged.


This role is paying a generous salary and benefits package up to 35K plus bens.


Essential skills


As a Web Developer you will ideally have some skills in the following:

  • A passion for technology and enjoy technical challenges to develop truly innovative solutions
  • Good understanding of OO PHP
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery
  • Some knowledge of Linux
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues to fellow team members


In this role you will receive training on the following:

  • Git, Gerrit, Jenkins or similar development pipeline tools.
  • Docker & Microservices.
  • PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
  • Drupal.
  • PHP Frameworks, - Laravel & Symfony
