Job Description

Stratospherec are excited to be working with a web design and digital agency based in Brighton who are looking for a Front End Developer to join their team on a hybrid basis.

The company are looking for someone with a good understanding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript who has the drive and passion to learn more. Along with crafting front-end experiences using SCSS, you will be troubleshooting issues along with brainstorming and coming up with new ideas for their clients, alongside the account management team. It’s worth noting that this company do not use React or any other front-end JavaScript frameworks. This role will involve the use of native/vanilla JavaScript (with some jQuery sprinkled in) to make progressively enhanced, scaleable, accessible and high-performing websites.

In this role you will be working closely with the back-end developers, designers, UX specialists and strategists to support the front-end developers in crafting beautiful, accessible websites.

Their CMS and framework is TYPO3, which has a steep learning curve but is highly flexible once you’re familiar with it. They are looking for someone who isn’t phased by a challenge and, with the support of the CTO and development team, can thrive in the role.

Ideally, you will deploy code to production within your first week and be completing support tickets independently within the first couple of months. Solutions to problems are generally found together with a colleague and all code is fully browsable in their hosted Git environment, allowing you to learn from work others are doing.

***The team work from the office twice a week so someone who can travel to Brighton is a necessity for this role***
