Remote or Hybrid working – to £40k per annum plus benefits
  
Are you an out of the ordinary Back-End Developer looking for an out of the ordinary role?

My client is looking for a Developer who can solve problems and get stuff done; there will be the need to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in with whatever makes the project work. As well as day-to-day ASP.Net development, usually on CMS or ecommerce websites, there will be a degree of sense checking on behalf of the intended users and working with the front-end team where elements cross over. You will also assist the QA team to test applications, ultimately helping generate ideas and working with an amazing team of people all to deliver exciting and vital solutions to business challenges.

What you will do:
  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of solutions
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain or improve code quality, organisation, and automation
  • Contribute ideas for improvement to the wider development team
  • Ensure client teams are kept up to date with the progress on projects
What they are looking for:
  • 3+ years’ demonstrable experience in a primarily backend focused role
  • Thorough understanding & experience of ASP.net with the C# language
  • Strong knowledge of the MVC pattern for ASP.net
  • HTML/CSS/Javascript to a basic/intermediate level
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Skill for writing reusable C# libraries
  • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008 and above)
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs
  • Demonstrable problem-solving ability
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
Nice to Have:
  • Experience of one or more of the following CMS: Sitecore, Umbraco, Sitefinity, Kentico, bespoke .net CMS
  • Knowledge of concurrency patterns in C#
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with Azure or AWS
  • Any experience in a digital agency or similar multi-client/project environment would be beneficial
